The Towanda Fire Department is a volunteer department comprised of approx. twenty volunteers under the direction of Fire Chief T.C. Pyle

Dispatched via pager system through Butler County 911, These trained and experienced members provide fire and rescue services for the City of Towanda, the Towanda Township, portions of the Fairview Township and Kansas Turnpike, located in Butler County Kansas.

The Department provides E.M.T. and First Responder Services throughout the fire district, saving valuable minutes while assisting Butler County EMS.

In addition, the department handles Grass and Vehicle Fires; Structure and other Fires; in both City and Rural conditions.
